As the days have got longer and brighter, we are delighted that foaling season has started. 

 We've been busy preparing and cleaning stables  ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our expecting mares. Daily monitoring for signs of impending foaling is in full swing.

This is such an exciting time for the whole yard, it is wonderful to see the next generation of superstars make their entrance into the world. 

We are incredibly lucky to have a wonderful selection of broodmares and we've introduced some new stallion bloodlines.

Here at Hempleman Equestrian we are always looking to welcome new owners to join our fantastic team. 

Alex and Kendall have a wealth of experience in producing young horses to the top of the sport. With a host of success stories for both their homebred horses and of valued clients. 

It may be that you have a horse that you feel is particularly special but perhaps  you don't have the skills or time to produce it to the best of its abilities. 

Alternatively you may be wanting the opportunity to attend well-known shows nationally and on the international circuit with more engagement than being a spectator.

Investment Opportunities 

Alex began his show jumping career alongside show jumper Grant Cashmore and has subsequently enjoyed nearly 15 years of successful competition. 

He has competed at many of the best young horse shows multiple times which we all aim for including Lanaken in Belgium, at the World Breeding Championships, Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham where he finished 2nd in the Newcomers Final 2018 and also huge success at the Young Horse Championship Show Addington EC, Buckinghamshire.

Alex established Hempleman Equestrian’s showjumping yard at Stonehouse Stables, in rural Cowfold, West Sussex, in 2009. He continued show jumping full-time but also set about breeding and producing top-class sport horses. Together with his wife Kendall and his long-standing Yard and Stud Manager Matt Fribbens, he now turns out young stock to an extremely high standard, all the while developing and investing in the fantastic facilities they have built amid the 34 acres surrounding the yard.

Alex and Kendall married in September 2019, combining their vast joint of knowledge, life experiences and their passion for horses into a very successful and constantly growing business.

Crystal is a stunning mare with a fantastic attitude, 3 balanced paces & rides in a snaffle. 

She has qualified for Newcomers 2023 and is currently jumping DC in Foxhunters. Showing lots of scope with a great technique for bigger classes. 

Crystal has X Country schooled which she loved and was very well behaved. 
She hacks out, is good to clip, shoe, behaves at a show on the truck & is very straight forward in all ways. 

Her siblings have gone on to jump up to 1.50m. She has lots of potential with a promising future ahead of her.

Pegasus - 7yr old British Bred young horse - for sale due to owner cutting down on numbers.

Pegasus has been professionally produced by Alex as a 5yr old on behalf of an owner. He has show jumped at many competition venues like Hickstead, Bicton, Coombelands and South of England so has been exposed to all show elements.

He has jumped several clears in 1m and Newcomers classes. He has been cross country schooling this winter and loved it. He hacks out alone or in company and is a very balanced, uncomplicated ride.

Pegasus rides beautifully on the flat in a snaffle with 3 wonderful uphill paces proving a dressage test would be no problem. He's been given time to develop and finish growing, hence why he is priced accordingly. Home is also more important.

Pegasus would suit a keen enthusiastic rider who wants to progress up the levels on a quality horse that has had a solid start to life.

Pegasus has no vices and very clean limbs good feet. Open to vettings

An exciting new chapter for us at Hempleman Equestrian, after a fantastic 13 years based in Cowfold. 

We have now re-located to our wonderful new base in Warnham, Near Horsham. 
(Just a 10 min drive from Gatwick Airport, 45 mins on the train from London Victoria and a short journey to several of the fantastic show centres in the South East including Hickstead and Royal Windsor)

The whole team are incredibly excited about the move and all the fantastic new facilities we have for the horses. 

The very welcomed addition for our indoor school has been so valued over the winter months for both horses and riders! 

As we look forward to spring and the addition of our 70 x 40m arena,  enhancing our training programme even further. 




Hempleman Equestrian Re-locates! 

On Saturday 20th April,  I attended Hickstead to demonstrate my skills and knowledge of Showjumping to the members of the South Coast Riding Camp. 

I demonstrated flatwork tips, how to warm up and down before entering an arena and most importantly how to keep your horse calm and relaxed especially with people sat so close. It was lovely to meet new faces and answer so many different questions. 

Billy Hastings was the star of the show, he rose to the occasion and loved the attention.

Demonstration Evening at Hickstead 

The Sussex Equine Hospital was founded in 1951, it was formerly known as the Arundel Equine Hospital. The hospital moved from Arundel to Ashington in July 2017. The brand new, state of the art, purpose built facilities allow us to provide our patients and clients with the best standards of equine veterinary health care.

The practice comprises 26 dedicated equine vets all with interests in different equine veterinary disciplines, supported by a large team of nurses, grooms and office staff. Our aim is to provide excellence in equine veterinary practice, made possible by vets that care passionately about their patients and provide a unique service tailored to each individual client’s needs.

The Sussex Equine Hospital provides ambulatory equine veterinary services throughout East and West Sussex, and into Surrey and Hampshire. We care for all types of equine patients from elite sport and racehorses to children’s ponies. The hospital also accepts referral cases from all over the south of England and the ambulatory vets regularly perform vettings throughout Europe.
